Someone sent me a link to this music video...holy guacamole...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbGkxcY7YFU
I can't figure out how to post a youtube link...I tried.
-
That's three minutes and forty-seven seconds I could've spent watching "Shoes" again:

Jillian approves!

To post you tube links you need the series of letters and numbers after the equal sign.
So for http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbGkxcY7YFU it's fbGkxcY7YFU
Stick that in your post and highlight it and click the YouTube button.

Edit - Duh!

That "Shoes" video makes me physically ill.
-
The shoes video is silly but What What is art.
-
I made my own mashup by playing Shoes and What What at the same time. Then I lost my mind.
P.S. it actually kind of works if you get it timed right.
-
I'm kind of in love with the "Shoes" video. Y'all are just haterz.
-
That male anchor is so palpably hating life right now in the Jillian clip.
-
I'm with Richard. What What is almost sublime, in the Kantian "mind-trying-to-conceive-of-the-unconceivable-and-unknowable" sense.
Okay the brown heart/star thing is obvious enough, but what's up with the crucifix? I think it might just be to disarm people?
-
I must admit I too am mystified by the burning cross.
-
I figure it's a KKK reference. Maybe he's super into gay skinhead pornos. I know I had my phase.
-
is it a Madona/like a prayer reference? also, the white back drop in some of those scenes reminded me of the "i'm too sexy" video. and of course, there were the unmistakable American Beauty petals.
personally, i like the 'what what' studds on the pants the best. i can picture tim & eric wearing them in that dance scene "do do do do" but, maybe that's just because i think both t&e and this 'what what' thing are like hyper weird in a psychadellic/strange way. maybe that wasn't an accurate description. i dont know how else to explain it.

What, what?!

You know, this What What song probably isn't any worse than that the stuff that Gay Pimp fellow puts out. He's smart enough to recruit cute twinks, though. Cute boys in their underwear making out, much like kittens, can redeem even the suckiest things.

I so utterly regret not meeting you in person when I was in Miami.

I actually wasn't kidding. I've been racking my brain all week long trying to remember the name of this heavily pierced German skin who moved to the very top of my unattainable crush list. I don't remember the names of the movies, either, because I'm not exactly fluent in German.
There's a pretty interesting article at Queerty (http://www.queerty.com/queer/the-totally-frightful-issue/the-totally-frightful-issue-gay-skinheads-20061016.php) on the subject, if you're curious. Warning: there's some wang a couple of page scrolls down. It's the cover of Bruce La Bruce's Raspberry Reich, and it's not explicit or anything, but it's wang nonetheless, so click the link at your discretion. Also, be sure to read the comments for rumors regarding the sexual orientation of the fellow who owns skinheads.net.
I don't pretend to understand the concept of gay skinheads or, for that matter, SHARPs. Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice sounds pretty stupid to me. I do know that the few SHARPs I knew of were pretty homophobic, but there was an uneasy alliance between the skins and the gays in Miami. The best punk shows during the nineties were at Cheers, which was a lesbian bar during the week and an all ages punk rock club on the weekends. A very nice lady named Gaye owned the place. If memory serves, the club was shut down due to some sort of liquor license kerfluffle. I think it was because of the crusty punks who would buy booze at the gas station across the street and get smashed in Cheers' parking lot. Sucky. I miss the place.
Well... I guess we still have Churchill's, eh? I've seen Iggy Pop catch a show there about a dozen times in the past few years, which is pretty cool. Also, the gals at Sweat Records (http://www.sweatrecordsmiami.com/) set up shop there, so that's pretty cool.
Edit: Jesus CHRIST, this post was filled with typographical errors.

A lesbian bar owner named Gaye? Amazing.

You know that "Party Jamz" store off of US1 on 17th Ave? That was Cheers. I miss it dearly, and I get a little choked up whenever I drive by it.
