I want the Riyaz professional.
-
i want a harmonium...and a ukelele.
-
i enjoy a nice korg
-
I'm going to buy a Chimera bC16 patch synthesizer. So that should be cool.
I really want an electric sitar.
-
The Riyaz Professional sounds like a jack in the box.
-
Harmonium for the win.
-
Glass Armonica. The original one, with the lead in it, that would drive anyone who played it insane before killing them.*
*Note: May not have actually driven people insane and then killed them.

Shout out for the accordion, since it's National Accordion Awareness Month (http://www.ladyofspain.com/naam.html).

I heard he just stopped living.

Maybe it's because I live in the South, but my favorite instrument is:

matt, what is this...it looks cool.
-
oh man... i've got a weak spot for alternative country, so the pedal steel pretty much sells me on any song. that along with a guitar fed through a fuzzbox and a moog synth rank up there with my favorite instruments, which probably explains why wilco's summerteeth is a top ten album for me.
-
Theremin, for the win:

Doesn't really count, but these sequencer things are pretty outstanding. In theory. I guess.

Point is, I wouldn't turn down a free one.

The guitar that 'The Duchess' played was also not too shabby.

I think that's called a Jew Harp.
-
"Jew's harp" when I was growing up. Also, apparently:
England - Gewgaw
Germany - Maultrommel (which means mouth drum)
Japan - Koukin
Russia - Vargan
Siberia - Khomus
Philippines - Kumbing and kubing
Italy - Scacciapensieri
Norway - munnharpa or munnharpe
France - guimbarde
Bali - genggong
Read more here (http://www.jewsharpguild.org/history.html). Quite interesting.

Did somebody mention Yes, the greatest band of the forever?

I really remember being little and wanting one of those things, so my Mom took me to Ostanek's in St. Catharines (the accordion/guitar shop run by three-time Polka category grammy winner Walter Ostanek). Mom was pretty sure that it was called a Jew's Harp too.
Mom: Do you have Jew's Harps?
Clerk: Oh no. I can't sell you one of those.
(pause as he slides open the drawer in front of him)
Clerk: But I can sell you a Snoopy harp!

Oh Dave, what are we to do with you? Steve is playing a lap steel in that video, a pedal steel has pedals that change the tuning as seen here, even though he's not using the pedals:

Yeah, computer and singing saw are tied for first in my book! Add some Bjork vocals and you've got yourself some avant garde music.

In the uncropped version of the picture that is my avatar thing, I am being serenaded by a couple of guys and one of them is playing a keytar. Need I explain to you why it is my favourite drawing ever created? Ever?
I didn't think so.

If only the power and majesty of the chapman stick could've been added to that drawing. Then again, I don't think a page could handle all of that awesomeness. Maybe an IMAX movie could, though.

haha! Yes, he did. I remember trying to brush that off for a few days.
What does "pots and kettles" mean?
-
It's a reference to the cliché "the pot calling the kettle black," which, as you probably know, has sort of the same meaning as "people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones."
