The Best Show on WUSM-Hattiesburg, Mississippi?
« on: October 07, 2006, 10:31:21 AM »
Jesse Thorn, "America's Radio Sweetheart" and host of The Sound of Young America is reporting the following on the AST boards:

Quote
I have done good in the world!

The Best Show on WFMU will soon be... the SECOND Best Show on WUSM-Hattiesburg!

The program director of WUSM, Mik, loved what he heard of the Best Show on TSOYA so much, he started listening every week, got obsessed, and called WFMU to ask if he could carry The Best Show. From what I understand, TBSOWUSM will air Tuesday nights at 1AM, a couple of hours after The Sound of Young America!
"Alright, well, for the sake of this conversation, let's say the book does not exist."

It looks like Tom has fallen off the schedule, but Jesse has moved up into a prime spot on Saturdays:

WUSM is a weird station - kind of a cross between a typical NPR station and a more hippified community radio hangout. I pass through Hattiesburg a lot and every time I tune in it's slightly different.
