Tyler From the Lower East Side

I really like this caller. He makes me laugh a lot, especially how he's really into Harmony Korine, and once told Tom, "Don't patronize me".

Somebody is definitely sponsoring that guy. There's no way he's paying LES rent from working at the IFC Center.

Maybe he has more than one job [?].  I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

[I like Harmony Korine too.]

the folly of youth, I tells ya. You just know that this guy blasts Whitehouse till 3am while flipping through old issues of Answer Me! and Crank. I can pretty much guarantee that there will be one of Lydia Lunch's 'films' playing on a black and white sylvania in the corner.

there is a 87% chance that a worn copy of 'Ham on Rye' is on top of the toilet tank.

The Lydia Lunch "film" playing on a loop is the one by Richard Kern with Henry Rollins chasing her through the woods and molesting her and stuff. Gave me nightmares when I saw it at 14!

Was this the same guy that would rather listen to the Kinks and "Math Rock"?

i think so.

also, he originally referred to himself as "Tyler from Menhentten"...which made me think i had a hearing problem, too much rock'n'roll.

Tom called it.

haha whitehouse!!

this caller makes me laugh a lot because i picture this kid who is casual friends with one of my good friend's roommates. so when my friend has parties at his place this kid comes and gets SMASHED and usually ends up passing out on the couch and outstaying his welcome. he works at the local independent theater (connection!) and is skinny and stubble-y and is always drunk (another connection??).

i loved it when he said he didn't know who david peel was (i didn't either - i'm barely 29) - then tom asked where he lived - when he replied "lower east side" - tom blasted him with "he was you 30 years ago!"

tyler is a great caller and i hope he continues to phone in. hopefully he can manage not to infuriate tom to the point where he ends up getting gomped every time.
