terrible techno
« on: March 12, 2009, 11:44:36 PM »
I'm having a Hot Chicks with Douchebags-themed birthday party tomorrow night and am in need of an appropriate soundtrack. Since the request for wedding music was such a score, I was hoping someone had some suggestions (or mp3s) they might be willing to offer up (with the understanding that no judgments will be made, or inquiries as to how the person came to own the music in the first place, etc)?

Testing out my costume tonight, I poured on a bunch of bright orange bronzer and probably permanently clogged my facial pores. I hope this is worth it   :o

That is an hilarious party theme.
I'm thinking C & C Music Factory "Everybody Dance Now ", Limp Biscuit's "Nookie", and Kid Rock's "Cowboy" would raise the douche factor.
But techno-wise I would suggest using Aesop Rock's Nike Workout album from the iTunes website.  This would be particularly funny because I think the album encourages people to work out harder.
Have fun.

I think the genre of techno (and there are thousands) you may be looking for is DEEP SEXY HOUSE.

perhaps you may be interested in Dessous presents Eccentris Vibes compiled by Sacha Dean Biyan (DIGITAL ALBUM)?

close enough, my suggestion is anything used at a runway show would be a good bet.  or, if youre familair with the scottsdale (AZ) scene, walk into any club....what theyre playing, you'll want to play too.

"Fired Up" by Funky Green Dogs
The "Deep House" version of this on 12' vinyl is not terrible, but this is:

"Carmina Burana" Techno mix

"L'Italiano" Toto Cutugno (dance remix) [this is the best version with the whole song; classy wedding footage is bonus, check out those fist pumps]

Don't forget the Lee press on nails.

Party was a success! But I never got a chance to download anything from iTunes because I was too busy applying bronzer. The fake 6-pack also ended up looking like the grill marks on a BK Broiler.

I hope so.

BTW, I didn't realize AZ had such a dbag contingent, but whenever I'm on the west coast people mention Scottsdale. What's the deal with that place?

oh, good heavens, scottsdale?!  i happened to be on the phone with M.O.M. when i read that.  i mentioned, "hey mom, apparently scottsdale's reputation precedes itself."  anyway, youre correct: if im not mistaken, TWO of the tools on Tool Academy came from scottsdale.

it's a general rule here that unless you fall into that douchebag (and/or their girlfriend) category, you have no reason to be in scottsdale (the locals call it, "snobsdale")- unless you got the money, honey.
