Even worse, they re-issued Faith/Void with an extra side of Faith, so now it's like a full Faith record with Void clinging on for dear life.

oh man, don't know how i forgot that one... forget fugazi, +VOID+ rules my world.  without them, we would have a world without Born Against.

and yeah, faith is pretty terrible... it's still the best dischord LP

Devin is my favorite guitar player or all time. So good.

I finally got around to editing part of a Medications concert I videotaped in Arlington in late 2008.
I fucked up the audio and the shutter, but the performance was amazing, so here ya go, fellow Devin Ocampions.

I'm loving their new album, as well.

French Toast

Played with French Toast when it was just the two of them: they were excellent. I was a bit of a Dischord dummy at the time, too, and had no idea that 'James' was James Canty of NoU, whose records I had bought around then and was desperately imitating.

I was listening to 'Novelty' by Jawbox the other day. Pulled it for a 'wonder what I think of this 15 years later' thing, and I still like it.

I was in DC in September '05 for the peace march, and I was talking to Ted Leo after his set, and this dude came up and introduced himself as James and I shook his hand and went on my way. I got about 100 feet, turned around, and went back and asked if he was James Canty. He said he was and I kinda gushed about how I liked his work on Tyranny of Distance and The MAKE-Up. I saw French Toast the following Spring and he recognized me and shook my hand. There were six people at that show, four of them were in the 2nd opening band. The first opening band and their friends left after they played. They stunk and they were fools for not sticking around because FT was on fi-yah. At one point James jumped off the stage and ran around the floor while playing guitar. They gave 100% to us six audience members. I'm glad he's back in The Pharmacists. He always says hi and shakes my hand when I see them play. He's a solid dude.

I loved it when Carl the audio repair guy asked Ted about a French Toast reunion.

Fugazi, for me, is in the top 5 best bands in human history.

Lungfish is incredible.  One long, incredible song, as is often said.

I really like the Soccer Team album a lot.  Full disclosure: I'm in a band with Ryan, one of two members of Soccer Team.  That being said, it's a great record!

MY FAVORITE DISCHORD BAND, OF ALL TIME, EVER EVER EVER, however, is Antelope.

If you're not familiar with Antelope just go and buy all three releases (a record, and ep, and a single).  They changed my life.

Ryan kicked ass in Beauty Pill and Most Secret Method, too.  Nice pickup, Ike!

That Egg Hunt 7" was really good.  I heard that out at a bar fairly recently. I think it was at the Jackalope in Austin. I also liked soulside a lot when I was a kid, but don't think it holds up for me. I found the embrace record to be one of life's biggest disappointments.

Fugazi changed my life. I'm sure a lotta you guys could say the same.

When I was in college, I would never miss The Make-Up when they came to NY (which was all the damn time back then), and I think you can sort of see me in several different crowds in the "Blue is Beautiful" video they put out.

I don't know if The Monorchid count, but they were amazing live. And if they don't count, then Circus Lupus does. NOU, of course.

Minor Threat still pops up on my iPod frequently and makes me wanna punch stuff. Speaking of which, this made me laugh like an idiot:
