he has come into our house before and would love too.

we might think about bringing him in, I'm just afraid it would disrupt our indoor cats too much.  Sparkles is a sensitive scaredy cat.  When we brought Sparkled home (at 6 weeks) Sprinkles hid in our closet for 3 weeks.  She doesn't run from Cancerface (the stray) when they have the screen door separating them, so maybe they would be alright.

I guess if we bring him in we're going to have to come up with a new name for him.

Yup.

And I think having cats named Sprinkles, Sparkles, and Cancerface would be grand.

especially because the name Cancerface was actually given to him because of the condition we're talking about right now.

The last 3 cats we've taken in have been strays and they've all gotten along fine with our other indoor cats. Yeah, there's a bit of an adjustment period, but everyone will get used to one another. Your biggest problem might be territory issues, especially if 2 or more are male. I'm guessing the stray is not neutered.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

So when he's all better the name will give him an air of mystery.

My dream is that Sparkles decides he's the best thing ever so you can take him in.

ok, I put the flea and tick treatment on him, so we'll see. I bought a topical spray that is supposed to help with the itchiness, but he freaked out when I sprayed him in the face.

If you're feeding him, you really ought to get him neutered. In Miami, there's an organization called the Cat Network that provides vouchers for $25 spay/neuter at participating vets. Check around with local pet organizations in your town. There's likely a similar program.

Yeah, you can probably just google "catch neuter release" and your county or town and come up with something.

I also vote for cancerface.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

I almost forgot about this site. There's a fairly extensive list of low cost neuter programs throughout the United States.

so, day 3 and he's looking a little better.  I couldn't get him to sit still long enough to get a good picture with my crappy phone camera.

Good shot of the damaged ears.
