Interference - s/t

It's so damn awesome. I have a tape of the original 1982 recordings/rehearsals and am glad that this was finally released.

I don't expect it to make many people's lists, but I quite like Bryan Ferry's Olympia.  Bit of a return to form for the old sleaze.

And guess who plays bass on it?  I think you can!

No, Dude, Flea.  Flea's on it!

He was also in that PBS Patti Smith documentary.  Does he have the same agent as Sheryl Crow or what?

I just saw LA's Jail Weddings last night. They were great. Gonna buy their record and see if it measures up.

No one has mentioned the Best Coast album yet.
It is pretty fantastic.

Oh, Chris L mentioned it alright...

I've heard a lot of people hating on it. Seeing them live before Titus Andronicus didn't really make me want to check it out.

I should mention I do like some songs on the Best Coast album, but in spite of the lyrics, which really are atrociously lazy.  Lazier than the top 40 mall pop a lot of its defenders would slag off.  Indie bubblegum has truly arrived.

I definitely wouldn't call the Best Coast record one of the best of 2010 but there's something likable about it for me. I actually find the lyrics pretty hilarious. I mean she can't be serious. This girl REALLY needs a date.

I do love, love, loooove "Inner Speaker" by Tame Impala. Fuzz out the wazoo. And it's got a kind of lazy, strung-out quality to it that I seem to be a sucker for. Combine that with the heavy fuzz sound and nice melodies and I end up listening to it almost every day.

I would second these nominations:
Screaming Females "Baby Teeth"
Baby Teeth came out in '06 (maybe it was re-released this year). Singles came out this year, though. Marissa's solo project Noun released Holy Hell this year. I'd vote for that as a top 5.

My discovery of the 2010 would be Kate Bush's 1985 masterpieceHounds Of Love. AMAZING!!!

Oh, and I called The Brutalist Bricks the 2010 album of the year last December. It's the only album that matters this year.
"Dad gets mad."

Here's a list of 33, which was whittled down from about 75 candidates:

Revised to remove the "*"s, which previously indicated albums on the list that I had not actually heard*, and include some additional recordings (in GREEN/RED GLOW).

*I have since heard them and the sound was sufficient to remain on the list!
