I have been watching the Cartoon Network's much-hated 'The Problem Solverz'. Yesterday 'Roba Has Dreadlocks' wherein half human/half robot Roba learns life lessons from hippy neighbor Rusty Pedals.

The show is from the Paper Rad collective, who I've followed/loved for some time. The bright colors, busy animation, and 80s/chiptune aesthetics put a lot of people off and there are some amusing youTube and IMDB diatribes from people who hate the show, but I think it's great.

I watched the first four episodes of Battlestar Galactica 1978 (the three parts of the first movie and the first part of the second episode).

I remember watching these live (barely) and have seen them in syndication a couple of times. My viewing companion was born after they aired and found them to be dated, both in terms of special effects (the show was canceled because the special effects were so EXPENSIVE, but that was a long time ago) and in acting style.

As for me, certainly a more realistic style of writing and acting has come about in the last, ahem, *35 years*, but that usually doesn't bother me. What did bother me was the multiple-Mack-truck size holes in every aspect of the plot and the science behind the show. I think they started out to make a work of epic scope that would fully hold together but simply didn't have the budget, time, writers or, uh, knowledge to make it happen.

I still love ye, BG '78, but I'm not sure how much of that is nostalgia vs. any inherent quality of the show. Those of you who are old timers on this site know I have almost identical feelings about a certain band that also peaked in 1978 (now owners AND namesakes of an AFL franchise!).
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

I watched some random first season episodes of The Rockford Files, a mid-70's detective show starring James Garner.  I was a bit too young for this when it was on network TV but remember re-runs were popular in my house, especially with my mom who was a big Garner fan.

As far as 70's shows go, this one holds up very well.  I wonder what people thought of his car, a Pontiac Firebird, when the show was on. I may be wrong but I don't think those cars aged well.

Just because I am pulling my hair out from convalescent boredom, this morning I decided to check out the third Transformer movie. Never have so many good actors engaged in such idiotic dialogue, but the look of the thing is the real surprise, almost videogame-like, with a lot of uncanny valley stuff. Shocking, and in an even worse way than I would have guessed.
