I was disappointed to hear that the Marky Ramone calls may be over. At least that's how it sounds...

I haven't given it a listen yet*, but that's unfortunate. My favorite call was the "Lady Wainsworth's Desires" call. I love the ones that skirt the line between vomit-inducing and pants-wettingly funny stuff. There's something Freudian about that.

*Podcasts, guys! It doesn't automatically appear on my iTunes, fellas.

Can I brag a bit without sounding too ridiculous? I'm really glad you guys told the Strangers With Candy story.

Shortly after I had been given the Scharpling & Wurster cds as a gift, I also got Strangers With Candy on dvd. I am a comedy nerd, so I'm always looking in the background. Sean and I noticed the Rock Rot and Rule, but always wondered why David was associated with it. Confusing. But we were excited nonetheless. :)

I removed all of the AST word filters in honour of this momentous occasion.

This was great to hear. I recently heard an old 'episode' of "The Sound of Young America" (pretty sure that was the name) that featured Tom and Jon. It was from 2005, so it's cool to hear a more updated interview. I also heard the show that the "America's Radio Sweetheart" guy did after Mitch Hedberg passed away. The Best Show's dealings with that unfortunate occurrence was leaps and bounds more tasteful. I have to wonder if Tom's 'being called' "South America's Radio sweetheart" is pointed at all and if the Best Show episode was in 'response' to the other show. I mean, I don't know, I'm just speculated, maybe they're friends.

Tom and Jesse Thorn, America's Radio Sweetheart, are pals. He's been on TSOYA one two three times.

- I loved Tom's list of funny A S T handles.  I would've added TacoSmith, didisaylabia, and Taargus Taargus.
I'm bummed I forgot to mention Jixby Philips.  Great name, great poster.

Oh man, you're makin me blush! Thanks yo, but I was kinda indirectly mentioned, so I'm good.

I feel like a sap for believing the whole Sirius debacle. I mean, I believed there was going to be a move and there was legal disputes and that everything else (Toilet Talk, Tom crippled by sadness on the air, etc) was a joke. I didn't realize it was ALL a goof. YOU GOT ME TOM. YOU GOT ME.

Great job everyone!

Hey, that was a great interview.  Good job guys!  Inspired me to sincerely try to get on the AST board, but I think they may remember me from the asterisk debacle and deny me entry.

Also - I think Jon Wurster always sells himself short on the voices.  He's not an impressionist, per se, but the attitudes he gives to the characters' voices makes them into more-or-less real people, which is critical in a 45-minute comedy bit.

I randomly picked "Hot Rockin' Ronny 11" where he is initially disguising his voice as "Devlin Rothschild of Cigar Aficionado Magazine."  It's great!

And Zachary Brimstead is finally given his due as one of the great comedic characters of all time.  Hearing that bit took me from a casual fan to a devoted listener.  "Yeeess."

Those are great, but I think Rodriguo is one of Jon's most underrated masterpieces...even the way he says "hello" at the beginning, with that ridiculous Franco-Cuban accent, just kills me every time i hear it.

YAY! If it were feasible, I'd like a weekly Best Show Puppet Show of at least one call. Please tell me it's feasible.

AST warmly welcomes any and all FOTs. Just remember our only rule: don't be a "dink!"*
