Teddy Rockstar @ McCarren Pool, Bklyn

Okay, 'fess up, who was at the Ted Leo show today?  I spotted a dude in a Newbridge shirt and a friend said he saw another in a Gorch shirt.  FOTs abound!  So were you there?  Did you go on the Slip n' Slide?

I went to the show with a Newbridge t-shirt in hopes that maybe Teddy Rockstar would play "Rock n' Roll Dreams'll Come True" but no luck -- just a usual awesome mix of music. I ran into a guy wearing a Gorch t-shirt afterwards.

The setting was might distracting with things like the two hippies dancing with hula hoops and the chubby guy wearing nothing but speedos and a beer gut. I pray that Tom went just to hear his take on the crowd.

Best Ted Leo rock show last week: Whirlyball ATL.  Not even the disturbing sight of Henry Owings wearing a black Team Chunklet jumpsuit, goggles, a red headband, and some sort of special glove that allows for better grip on the netted stick -- he looked like a cross between the Zodiac Killer and Rambocky -- could derail the juggernaut of awesomeness that is Ted Leo + Rx.  (Birds of Avalon rocked hard, too.)

He played Rush's "The Spirit of Radio" during the encore.

Trivia: Ted plays Whirlyball in a Public Enemy t-shirt.  He's good!

I had all intentions to go, but it didn't work out.  Hopefully I'll get to see him again sometime.

UGH no FAIR.  I wish New York had a Whirlyball.  I would play the s-hit out of some Whirlyball.

Who won, anyway?  Didn't Henry say the Chunklet team was undefeated?  Did Teddy break their winning streak?

Team Chunklet remains undefeated, but Teddy earned their respect.

Good work, Omar. that was almost like being there.  I can't wait to go to college where my parents can't tell me not to go to Brooklyn.

Oh my GOD that GIRL.

SERIOUSLY. She makes me sad. Although watching Teddy Rockstar skip after her gave me some truly epic lulz.

"Oh my GOD that GIRL."

Hey, at least she has some good footage for her eventual intervention. Great picture of her and the bass player on Pitchfork.

props to teddy for not tweedying her. not like he'd hit a gal, but jeesh... teddy just keeps rocking without missing a beat. not quite as awesome as this legendary performance at the pitchfork fest last year though.

Best one I ever saw live was this one guy who has his arm out stretched to shake Bob Dylan's hand only to get tackled by a roadie like he was playing linebacker.

The other seeing the Allman Brothers with one guy just walking across the stage giving the thumbs up to the band bobbing his head to the music.

Oh Great Woods its always entertaining to see a show there.
