Tom,
I started listening to your show about this time last year-- The Clerks II show was one of the first few shows I heard. For the first time, as I mentioned when signing up to be an official Friend of Tom, your commentary was very much like my own day to day, (cranky and fed up..), but so much funnier. I'm happy to have had this much time to enjoy the show--as many have said, it's been a weekly safe-house for my brain, something I've grown used to looking forward to. I understand though that it's a one way street, a fan's appreciation for another's art. I myself wouldn't know how to begin to "drive the bus" as you're able to do week after week...
...and as far as dealing with nut-jobs, I caught a shoplifter today stealing a shopping cart full of meat in the grocery store where I work, and my name went on the police report (because I was the only witness), and the police officer had me say to the guy (now in the police car) "you're under arrest for shoplifting." as the thief stared in my eyes... I want my wife and I now more than ever to move to another state...and can certainly understand your extreme unease regarding nut-jobs intruding into your life.
--I wish you the best, and I want also to thank you for the moral code which you've been upholding and promoting through your show. Not the hollow, artificial morality we see so much of in our society, but a true "class act" mentality which you've managed to spread throughout your listening audience.
I, as one of the "normals" (self described..), with to give thanks for all of your efforts. Whatever you decide to do in the long run, you've given us all more than we can ever repay. ...yes. From all of your Friends in Oklahoma, thanks!
