Hi Matt. KTB here (actually my name is Christopher). I hope you didn't quit the board because you felt like you were being attacked for your comments in that recent nonsense thread, or for any other reason. Just give me the chance to run some stuff by you.
Just so you know, I love being a Friend of Tom (as I hope you do too) and really feel like we have a pretty swell bunch of people in our ranks. The one thing that I like about the board is that it is pretty much a "Let Your Freak Flag Fly" environment. Where it does differ from other message boards that I have experienced, is that it lacks a certain antagonism and mean-spiritedness that is all too rampant out there on the web. That doesn't mean that we can't give each other a good poking at now and again.
I guess that I was just perplexed at the idea of a topic/thread being judged as having value or not having value. There are many topics out there, and when I come across one that seems interesting, I participate. When it's something that isn't my bag, I pass it over.
Sarah and mine's intention behind that thread was just to mess around and alleviate some boredom. I don't think we were presenting it as some sort of "piece" which we wanted critiques of. If anyone found it amusing, then that's great, but if they didn't, well there's all sorts of other ways to be entertained. I guess I would have felt differently if we had posted something in the contest thread and asked "what do you think of this? does this need work?"
anyways, I hope that you join the board again. maybe we won't see eye to eye all the time, but as I am want to say "Some Like Vanilla, Some Like Rocky Road".
