I saw PFT at Helium in Philadelphia last night with a bunch of Best Show fans.  He was really incredible, especially in the first ten minutes of his set (New Yorker bit, LA vs. SF).  Most of the set was new, I only recognized one bit from his show that I saw last year.

Plus, fanciest suit ever (pocket square AND vest).  Go see him if you are in the area.

I think the PFT calls are great!  When those guys like-mindedly shpritz I feel like I found the pocket of a party where the hilarity ensues, like a couple guys who stay in the kitchen all night cracking wise while people drift in and out to grab a beer.  Then something like Steak-Ums happens.

Those two are clean as a whistle too in their humor.
I wonder if off air they are a little blue-r.

Nothing too new to add, but I also saw PFT at Helium in Philadelphia on Saturday night.  I bought "Impersonal," and it raised my expectations, but Paul still exceeded them.  Maybe its because Philadelphians are more bark than bite or maybe he's just that good, but Paul really put the "Lenny from Of Mice and Men" segment of the crowd in their place.  He just barreled after them headlong and came out glowing.  Much better crowd work than I anticipated ("Impersonal" doesn't feature any crowd interaction), and he really has a polished stage presence.  Reminded me a lot of Patton Oswalt in that way.  Can't recommend him highly enough to anyone that hasn't gone to see him perform yet. Still a show on Sunday!

I also got to meet Paul after the show.  He was kind enough to sign my iTunes receipt for my purchase of "Impersonal," and seemed more than willing to participate in awkward conversation. A real nice guy.

When I waited uncertainly in the hallway near the glamorous meet-and-greet pavilion (or as jerks might say "the fold-up table") for PFT to hawk his wares, who strolls in wearing a cowboy hat and goggles, but Tom himself! I was pretty floored, and scurried over to him as fast as I could to..get this...participate in awkward conversation.  Seriously, Tom and Paul were easy to talk to, very kind, and more than willing to sign my iTunes receipt, which has replaced my Tiger Schulman's diploma above my fireplace.  Go see Paul's shows and buy his CD!

In a related note....your time is coming Dave...

Ummm, there's a lot of Daves around here. I'm a little scared to think you could possibly be talking to me. The last time somebody said "Your time is coming" to me, I wound up requesting a restraining order.
