Three things, in order of importance:
--I've been working on an updated version, because the original, as it turns out, wasn't completely print-ready. I added one more character because it was bugging me that I left him out. Who? PLEDGE and find out!
--Second, I've changed my name to Neil Numberman (pen name anyway). That's how it will read on the poster. I never much cared for my name, and there's already too many Brian Weavers out there (in my small town, there were literally three Brian Michael Weavers! WTF!) No, this isn't in response to last weeks show, I've been Neil Numberman for a couple months now. Welcome him!
Brian--how do you do these illustrations? More specifically--the poster. Is it freehand, oldschool pencils, paints, markers, etc, or some sort of digital tablet/pen thing, or a combination, with scanned-in sketches and coloring via computer?
What's your workflow on something like this poster? It looks so great.
--Good question, and perfect for my final point. I usually scan in 2B pencil line that I've traced over a sketch, and paintbucket in Photoshop. But there were small yet important details I was missing in the process (especially when making something into a huge poster), and that's why all the FOTs and myself should give JOHN K (of Rambocky cartoon fame) A HUGE THANK YOU!! Without him I think we'd all have a gigantic pixelated mess come in the mail, as opposed to the redo he's worked very hard on, which will look FANTASTIC. And the only reason he's doing it is because of his love for the Best Show! Hurrah John K!!
Ok everyone? Let's pledge the shit out of tonight's show!
--Neil Numberman!
