Last year I went to a show at the Fake Gallery in LA. By pure chance I ended up sitting next to GWF's own Jason Nash. I recognised his voice immediately because this was during my three week listening stint with that podcast. At that time GWF had a string of great guest appearances (Jen Kirkman, Paul F Tompkins, Jerry Minor, David Cross...) I talked to him for a little while before and after the show and, to his credit, he seemed like a nice guy (or at least courteous to a stranger).
Even that nice run in couldn't keep me interested in that show. When they didn't have a good guest they just ended up whining and complaining about their lives of luxury. They seemed really amused by themselves...to an annoying degree. But the real deal breaker for me was when they called up the girlfriend of Paul F Tomkins and started to ask her very personal questions about their love life. YUCK! It was one of the creepiest violations of a friendship I'd ever heard of.
That was the last show I heard.
Boo to GWF
