I have listened to the first disc of my new Faces box set, and I am as thrilled with it as I thought I would be. I know most of the studio stuff (though I only ever owned A Wink Is as Good as a Nod to a Blind Horse), but some of the most fun stuff is from rehearsal and previously unreleased concerts recordings. Laurie is the best thing in this world, at least for the next month or so.

the faces box set is awesome.  hearing the live version of beyond the plynth/gasoline alley (sic?) for the first time (i think on the best show) was a revelation.  that's a TREMENDOUSLY cool gift

Awww, I'm so happy you're enjoying it. I bought it on Monday, literally the day before you threw Rod Stewart in the hate pit. I was scared, you wouldn't enjoy it, so I burned as many Simon Amstell-hosted Never Mind the Buzzcocks onto one DVR (in DIVX mode) as I could. You should be able to watch it on your computer in quicktime, but I recommend downloading VLC, so you can watch it full screen without having to pay for Quicktime Pro. Kimberly Stewart is on one of the episodes, and Simon makes fun of her for being pretty much useless.
