FOTF has ADD
« on: November 17, 2007, 05:03:59 PM »
Anyone else noticed this board gets off topic quicker than any other board on the net?  I'll ignore threads that are 5 pages long because I have no interest in the beginning topic only to find out that the thread veared 5 miles off course by the end of the first page.

I love it.
Breakfast- I'm havin' a time
Wheelies- I'm havin' a time
Headlocks- I'm havin' a time
Drunk Tank- not so much a time
George St.- I'm havin' a time
Brenda- I'm havin' a time
Bingo- I'm havin' a time
House Arrest- I'm still havin' a time

If we try hard enough, we can turn any topic into a thread about our cats.

I walk my cat Sid on a leash. When he wants to go out, he climbs onto the arm of my chair and punches me in the shoulder.

My cat's breath smells like a dead baby's diaper.

I don't have a cat.  My finger smells like oatmeal.

Oatmeal is supposed to have a calming effect on nervous dogs, especially older ones with weak legs.  I plan to start feeding it to Bandit, who has gone a bit weird since his savaging this summer.

Off topic is reality--on topic is fascism!

Are there any vegans here that have their pets on strict vegan diets? My friends have their dogs and cats on vegan diets. I'm not a vegan but it's pretty interesting to visit them and see this strict lifestyle that they live and pass down to even their pets.

I deeply disapprove of vegetarian, much less vegan, diets for dogs and cats.  Imposing such an utterly unnatural diet on one's helpless beasts strikes me as the height of arrogance.  And I wouldn't be surprised if it hurts the animals as well.  Cats, in particular, but even dogs.  In fact, many vegans/vegetarians feed their beasts raw, setting aside their own notions about the morality of consuming meat and other animal products when it comes to their beasts on the reasoning that it is best to feed them what they would be consuming in nature.  No cat or dog would ever be a vegetarian/vegan by choice.

Hey, anyone else pick up the new Zeppelin "Mothership" comp? Makes the albums obsolete, I say!

I think I agree with you Sarah but I've never had a pet or taken care of animals so I don't really know enough to make any arguments. They seem healthy though.

I can't even imagine a cat eating something that isn't oily, fragrant and fleshy.  Never owned one, but used to feed my landlady's cats and they were particular about what they ingested, to say the least.  In contrast, my dog Hank would (when he was younger) gobble up bits of paper that fell to the floor.

I started out being into Ginger Spice, but quickly dropped her for Scary.  In the wanng years of their first go-around, I eventually developed a thing for Sporty.  Always hated Posh, though.  And Baby was, well, a baby.
Now write me a receipt so I can tip on outta here...

I'm still aghast that Posh spice and David B. named their baby 'Brooklyn'. I mean, c'mon guys: don't use your kid's moniker as a feeble attempt to display some weird street cred.

the only shittier baby name I can think of is 'Gary'. I mean, who looks at a beautiful young infant and thinks "Yep, that's a Gary."

this only applies to babies named Gary. I guess teen-age and adult Garys are just fine.
