« on: January 01, 2008, 08:19:11 PM »
I know you like me, but why have you taken 30+ hours of my life from me since Christmas?

seriously.
Breakfast- I'm havin' a time
Wheelies- I'm havin' a time
Headlocks- I'm havin' a time
Drunk Tank- not so much a time
George St.- I'm havin' a time
Brenda- I'm havin' a time
Bingo- I'm havin' a time
House Arrest- I'm still havin' a time

Well I'm patiently waiting for the mac version. I know when I was playing Call of Duty 2 there went all my time in a blink of an eye. Especially online.

I don't play video games as much anymore, usually I stick to sports games and occasionally get sucked into a huge game like Oblivion. I spent a couple nights a week or two ago completely enjoying Portal. That might have been the most fun I've had playing a video game since elementary school. I'm also looking forward to renting Assassins Creed one of these days.

As for Call of Duty, I've never been able to get into first person shooters for the most part. Also, I really don't care for playing games online. But, I do have to admit I had more fun playing Call of Duty 2 than most other FPS games.

This game gave me more, "OH MY GOD WHAT?" moments than any game ever.

I'm up to 1 day and 10 hours, and the network has been down a lot or I would be a  lot higher.

I haven't even taken it online yet! I'm scared to let the online masses ruin this game for me.

I haven't played the one player much yet.  the multi player is the best.

I think that's why I can't play these games. For a semi-newbie to FPS it's absolutely impossible for me to go online and not get destroyed. There isn't a learning curve, you have to have played these games all your life. The 1 player mode isn't as fun and really it's not even a good training ground for playing online.

I'm in the same boat. I'm pretty terrible at these games and get slaughtered online. But, at the risk of taking this down am even deeper nerd-hole, you should consider signing up at 2old2play.com (if you're older than 25, that is, since it's a site requirement). It's a site set up to pair up "older" gamers based on a mutual distaste for playing online with the general Live population and based on how casual or competitive you are. I managed to find plenty of people as awful as me who just play for fun and people way better than me who don't have never used the word "noob" when killing me. It's worth a shot if you're into the games but hate 12 year olds killing you non-stop.

Thanks for the link. I might try that out sometime. I'm still indifferent to online gaming though. There's no real goal other than racking up achievements. That seems to be the main goal of video games these days instead of grueling through a game to finish it and feeling that satisfaction when you do. It's rare to find a 1 player game that doesn't hold your hand throughout the game. They are out there but unfortunately not many people are buying them.

Unfortunately, I'm on the 360. But COD4 should stick around for awhile... COD5 is being made by the people who screwed up COD3, so I imagine those COD2 fans will be holding onto this one for quite a bit.

i hadn't played any video games for over 2 years. after i went back to see family for the holidays, i played my brother's COD4 online and it was amazing. i thought it was pretty easy to pick up and work up to it. you can't expect to jump in and be good right away. i put some time in and eventually started coming out on top. and this was just over a few days.

i've played alot of FPS (i was bigbig into halo) and i can easily say COD4 gets it right, more than any other game that has come before. COD4>halo>goldeneye
