What kind of person are you that Diablo Cody makes you this angry?

The only people who matter, Gravy Boat: FOT.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

A classic. I miss the Amy Mann days. I heart when Tom sings.

I suspect that people unwittingly empower her when they assume she's being naïve.

I dunno, she seems pretty down to earth to me:

From Cnnsi.com's Monday Morning Quarterback with Peter King making some general comments at the end. This is why I hate most sports writers. Just write about sports and leave your soft side for your family or whoever else cares to listen to your thoughts about anything other than sports.

b. Saw Juno. Loved Juno. My favorite movie of the past year, by far. Intelligent, touching, moving, real, beautiful, incredibly poignant. I had no idea who Ellen Page was, but her acting job in the title role was so genuine, charismatic and perceptive that I'll go see any movie she's in 'til she's 70.

Remember, I'm an apologist for Juno but none of what he said is the reason why. Incredibly poignant. Geez. Maybe I can understand why you guys hate it so much if that's what people are saying about it.

This may be true for some people... but The Best Show & it's listeners oppose pedestrian entertainment.  And that's what Juno is (along with all the other tripe Tom/Jon slog on-air).

Also... use the preview function.

thank you.

I like Steely Dan, Al Green, the Band, Death Proof, the soundtrack to Scarface and the odd Tom Waits album here and there.

What I do not like is suffocatingly precious and convoluted dialogue that sounds like it should be coming from the offspring of an autistic Family Guy scriptwriter and Moon Unit Zappa in "Valley Girl".

No, actually, I saw the preview while the audience for Before The Devil Knows You're Dead (another stinker, incidentally - note the post date in case Tom later sees that and hates it), about two weeks before Tom said anything about it.  People in the audience were CRACKING UP at the shitty jokes in the preview, and I loudly said to my wife, "really?"

Also, what Stupornaut said, except substitute Frank Zappa for Death Proof, and I like pretty much all of Waits' albums.

I don't think Juno can be called pedestrian... You might not like the movie but it's hardly standard fare and considering that 99 percent of comedy movies are absolutely terrible I don't really understand how it can be considered terrible comparatively. Was it the greatest comedy in years or Oscar worthy? No. But, it wasn't a bad movie either.

Gravy, most of us agree with Tom's tastes most of the time so it's not that we're lemmings to take his word for something. It's just like a friend you have who has the same tastes and tells you not to go see a movie or listen to an album. You tend to listen to their advice.

I agree with Gilly- I had no problem with Juno until it started getting so many accolades.  Now I hate the movie because it seems like everyone around me is drinking crazy juice!
