I enjoy watching day-time television such as Jerry Springer, Montel, and Maury. Also, the less trashy yet equally entertaining Dr. Phil. Rikki Lake was the best when she was on. Such ridiculousness, hey at least she openly admitted it was all fake.

(please keep in mind I only watch about 7 hours or less of TV a week, exclusively while I'm eating)

When I'm out of town (ok, in Vegas) I often watch daytime tv inbetween gambling and staring at the enormous garish buildings.

The last few times I've been, I've watched Maury do "I'm not the father."  It is among the most arresting things ever committed to video.  Like watching the circus in hell.
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

I like People's Court with Marilyn Milian and Judge Maria Lopez.  It's really fun to watch sassy but educated women in positions of power berate the shit out of people.   :)

In fact, I'm not real sure why that's embarrassing.  Maybe the common misconception is that only rejects and the unemployed watch daytime television.  In any case, I manage to catch snippets on my lunchbreaks.  Oh how I wish I could watch the whole show.
Here's a pretty good one:

And I love the beginning intro/music with the overly accusatory tone of the voice-over man.  That pretty much never fails to cheer me up.

I watch Flava of Love and I Love New York. I considered buying the DVDS.

I do not for the life of me understand the menu at Starbucks.  I feel so stupid that I cannot even go in there to order. I just don't understand what anything is on that menu.

I never learned pints/liters/ounces/quarts/etc or how to convert any of them.  Liquid measurement baffles me.

My belly button is incredibly deep.  Like a black hole.

Has anyone seen the Gidget movies? I'm watching Gidget Goes to Hawaii right now and laughing my ass off. I don't think I'm supposed to be enjoying this so much. It's super cheesy. I feel an embarassing Gidget movie addiction coming on.

I remember watching more than one Gidget movie in high school. I can't really remember anything too specific besides the fact that they were pretty over the top. I was a much bigger fan of Beach Blanket Bingo.

Which Gidget did you prefer?  There were several.  To me, Sandra Dee is the quintessential movie Gidget.  Sally Field wins as the TV incarnation.

I never cared much for Gidget, but in my childhood watched all the movies and many episodes of the television show.  But then I'd watch just about anything that was on after school, once Dark Shadows was done.  I mean, my mother and I used to watch Merv Griffin, for crying out loud.  We hated him, but we watched.

I've never watched the television show, but I'd say Sandra Dee. The other Gidgets are too busty and provocative to be a true Gidget. Speaking of provocative, I was watching that movie with my friend's 8 year old, and I was so surprised at the insane amount of sexual innuendo. I always thought they were such innocent movies.

Yes, a lot of the innocent fare of the fifties and sixties is absolutely filthy.  I found much of it disgusting even as a small child (hence my fury at The Singing Nun and Doris Day).

THE L WORD - I've watched every season, every episode, and I love it. New season just started and it looks like it's gonna be a doozy.

I, too, love The L Word.  And I don't have Showtime.  Which means that I have watched every episode of all 5 (5?) seasons in 9 minute increments on YouTube.  I will finally fork over the cash for Showtime this summer.

i couldn't take the l word after the beginning of season 3. there was way too much jenny and her horrid poetry scrolling across the screen. i had a lesbian roommate in college who thought she could write poetry, so i've already had enough inner-power-of-womyn blather to last a lifetime. or two lifetimes.
