I guess it's because of the dungeon, but I always picture Spike looking like Ted Levine as Jame Gumb...

...even though Spike's voice does not sound at all like the man who said "Wait. Is she a great big fat person?" And I get the feeling that Spike is relatively harmless...no lotion in baskets.
