so Stan are you pouring out a bag of funyuns and playing Rush's 2112.

I guess Gygax took a critical hit to the heart with a +5 Heart Attack

I went to Gen Con in 1987 and in the time it took Gary to sign my DMG, he had chain smoked about 3 Pall Mall filterless cigarettes.

I too shall pour some Dr. Pepper out and buy my last package of Mr Salty Pretzel sticks. :'(

(This could just as well appear on a general apologist thread)

Nice.

I went with "He failed his last saving throw" for his epitaph.
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

Someone rolled a 20.

(Isn't 20 a botch in AD&D? I forget. Anyway, that's what I was going for. You're welcome!)

Wow, news travels fast.  I was just on my way here to console Stan.  Sorry, fella.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

If it was sudden and immediately fatal, he went the way I would like to go and has my congratulations.

A fellow on my Buffy board wrote this in his post announcing the death:

Quote
For old geeks like me, he was like this cool old uncle that invented great games for us to play. He was responsible for most of my creative output through my early teens. I remember walking past him at GenCon one time and pointing out to the guy with me, "Hey, that was Gary Gygax!". "Who?" he asked? "GARY GYGAX!!!" I said. "He invented ALL of this!". That might have been an exaggeration. But he invented a lot of it, and even better, he inspired us to keep inventing more.

Bye, Gary. You rolled a 20 at the game of life.

There have been far worse eulogies.
