i'm an incorrigible omnivore, and know little of specialized vegan cooking, but i'm going to hazard a guess and say this guy probably wasn't a very good vegan chef.

Hey Teddy, turns out it's for sale.

Quote
Last week Mr. Diablo put the club up for sale, although not because of the criticism, he said. He may have underestimated the appeal of stripping to vegans, or of vegan cuisine to striptease fans; an earlier vegan restaurant he ran was poorly received.

Huh.  Guess I better book a show in Portland ASAP.

I smell an investment opportunity! Roll up to Casa Diablo in that Miata of yours, TL.

By the way, if you are 'merkin it is "a historical," not "an historical."

Also, "a hysteric," "a hysterical fan."

Eating beneath a pole dancer scares me.   Just because of the Brownian Movement factor, you are what you eat, etc.

is that blonde seriously one of my vegetarian peers? ugh.

She seems like a nice enough girl.

She struck me as pretentious and ditzy. But then I remembered that documentary Live Nude Girls Unite! where they talk about doing their "stripper voices", and perhaps I have judged her too harshly.

I get porn, but I don't really get strip clubs. It seems like a lot of money for very little payoff.

I definitely don't get eating at a strip club.
Eat, if you're hungry, and then go the strip club.
OR, go to the strip club, and if you get hungry, go somewhere else and eat.

Now write me a receipt so I can tip on outta here...

Yeah, naked people and food don't mix. At my college, I think about ten years ago, they used to have this naked cooking party. It sounded like a terrible idea to me. Nudity and food aren't good together, but nudity and a hot stove sounds downright deadly.

If you're going to follow that line of thinking, though, you might as well call it quits with food altogether.

Has anyone else noticed the peculiar local pride Portland has in its strip clubs?  I think it has something to do with their zoning or vice laws or whatever dating back to pioneer days, but more than one person I spoke to out there mentioned that Portland has "more strip joints per capita" than anywhere else in the USA.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.
