Here's hoping that tonight we can stick to soda-drinking and having a good time, unlike the way they do it up in Canada.

I almost went to this show. I'm so mad I missed out on the fun.
I'm warning you with peace and love.

Just make sure you guys don't pour beer onto effects pedals. Forrest, I'm looking at you here.

Beer costs too much in New York bars to waste it on such shenanigans. Also, I'd be a little less confident getting into a fight with Dr. Reatard after seeing that video.

I went to the show on the 16th (the night before the Toronto fiasco). For a Wednesday it was a decent crowd, but not that huge. Moshing and surfing commenced, but in a people-positive kinda way. None of the shenannigans that took place the next night.

He played well, but I got the impression Jay was in a real stinky mood that night (...or is that the way Jay usually seems live?) Either way the mood probably contributed to his reaction in Toronto.

Oh tortured artists, why do we love you so?

No shit, I'm surprised his fist didn't turn into a blue fireball halfway through his swing.

I now have another thing, but you kids have fun.  Oh, and Gregory, it was nice meeting you at the volunteer shift last week.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

Jay Reatard and Cheap Time were in Boston last night, but I missed it (I was at Neil Handburger's gig at the Middle East). I did see him the last time he came through Boston and it was effing awesome, so if you have the chance, I say GO. It'll no doubt be twenty furious minutes of your life that you will not regret losing.

Gregory - I will buy you a soda at Bowery. I'm the guy who kinda looks like Matthew Broderick if his head were really oblong.

no shit.  what the hell was that all about??  not to mention that bonehead promoter.  anyway, if a friend visits memphis i advise them to schedule it around a jay reatard show (amongst others).  its very intense at first (even on video) and almost too chaotic to handle, but it grew on me very quickly.

p.s. im still too scared/short to throw myself into that mess though.

Wow, when I saw them at 7th St. this past fall it was pretty relaxed. 50-60 people at most- almost all of them just bobbing their heads. A little disappointing actually, but Jay Reatard was great. The Pitchfork Effect has worked it's magic I guess.

I'll be the guy wearing a t-shirt with a picture of an inn that says "the Barrow House, Dorset Vermont" underneath the picture. I will most likely be flying solo tonight, so I encourage any and all FOTs to say hi.
