BUT, I was just re-watching a bunch of Larry Sanders episodes the other day and was surprised to see Judd Apatow's name - I never realized he was involved in that (and that does, indeed, get him some renewable cred points).

Aw! I saw Janeane Garofalo do an hour of stand-up tonight. She was very funny, but toward the end I became a bit, uh... wistful?  I realized I wasn't 16 anymore, that I no longer had a crush on Paula from The Larry Sanders Show, and that no TV comedy has quite measured up since.

Good thing all 89 episodes are up on youtube!

I whole-heartedly agree. I had a roommate who was always flaunting about how he cuts his own hair and how he only takes cold showers- another thing just I don't get.

what about letting it grow out for about 4 months and then shaving it all down to nothing and starting all over again - does that qualify?

the barber i went to for the first 20 or so years of my life retired and i never found another one worthy of trimming my locks - or a better system of hair management..

It's really tough to find a good barber.  The places I go are either chop-shops or they're run by people that would clearly rather be making a lot more money cutting or dying girl hair.

every barber I go to manages to botch it in one way or another. Tries to make me too pretty or makes me like I'm twelve. It ends with me going at it with a set of clippers. I've got it down to a presentable art.

THANK GOD I'll be bald in a couple of years and I can put all of this behind me.

It's time for a counter-point here. I'll fess up. I shave my own head.  But I am bald on the top and it takes about ten minutes. I mean, why would I have someone else do it? I don't have someone else shave my face. If I'm a q-ball and it'll take the same amount of time as shaving my face, why don't I just do it?

Plus, the 12 saved dollars can go toward my subscription to Cheap Bastards Monthly.
