good, i'm glad i'm not alone here. i was at the first show Dan ever played (the OCDJ benefit with People Like Us, Matmos and Jason Forrest), i talked to him at a WFMU record fair and he gave me his live cd (which is now impossible to find) cause i played his stuff on my radio show, i used to talk to him on aim all the time, and we talked about getting him a gig somewhere at Rutgers... that didn't really happen, but eventually he toured with OCDJ, and they played my friend Machine's basement. and i've seen dozens (hundreds?) of New Brunswick basement shows, and this was the only one i ever saw Tom show up to. i remember Dan was really super excited because Liam Lynch (of Sifl & Olly, my favorite tv show ever) was about to do a video for one of his tracks.
obviously since then, he got a best new music in pitchfork and so now his shows are super packed so it's not quite the same as the basement show days. but anyone who can fill up the Bowery Ballroom and divide the room up into sections and have a dance contest and have people run up and down the balcony, something positive and encouraging cause i don't really know how to finish this sentence.
