Werner Herzog and Nicolas Cage.  Bad Lieutenant remake.  What up?
Sounds like someone was working as a conduit for nature's natural vengeance.  Just like Jesus.  And some of the others.

Oh yeah!  Someone emailed me about this and not only did I forget to email them back, I also forgot to post on here about it.  Anyway, WTF?  I think that's all there is to say.

CANNES -- Werner Herzog and David Lynch are teaming for "My Son, My Son," a horror-tinged murder drama based on a true story.

Herzog and his longtime assistant director Herbert Golder co-wrote "Son," loosely based on the true story of a San Diego man who acts out a Sophocles play in his mind and kills his mother with a sword. The low-budget feature will flash back and forth from the murder scene to the disturbed man's story. A guerrilla-style digital video shoot on Coronado Island is tentatively set for March.

So where exactly does Lynch fit in? Directing? Producing? Annoying tease there by the WR.

Also, come on - the guy-acts-out-Sophocles-in-his-mind-and-kills-mother-with-sword bit has been done to death.

The article is bizarrely vague about who is doing what, but apparently it's Lynch producing and Herzog directing.  Lynch is also producing Alejandro Jodorowsky's "metaphysical gangster movie" called King Shot.  Asia Argento, Udo Kier, Andy Milonakis, and Nick Nolte are attached.

David Lynch is serving David Lynch coffee on set and slated to direct the sequel, Son of My Son, Son, the story of a child who sees My Son, My Son, the guerilla-style videotaped horror movie, and decides to make a guerilla-style videotaped movie version.

I liked Werner with the nuns, and the opening. I didn't like the "put-on-a-show" part of it.

I don't feel like doing an homage to Abel Ferrara because I don't know what he did — I've never seen a film by him. I have no idea who he is. Is he Italian? Is he French? Who is he?

Oh, Werner, what are we going to do with you?

it looks like korine's wit in interviews is rubbing off on his mentor.
