Remember what happened recently when 'the Board' started making format demands?

Plus: Spike, you've dropped the ball on so many chances to be a bigger part of the show (Judge Spike, Marathons, Hosting!!).
You've crawled your way off of your orange crate considerably since the days of, "Where's Sexy Sadie? *click* " but drop the demands and take the Kid up on one of his invites.

I hope there are no major changes to the intro. I hope it stays sort of a mini-collage of the show's entire history.

i don't think that's what it is. because the clips for the intro were only taken from 2 or 3 shows, there are people in that intro who only ever called once or twice.

there are many current or recent regulars who i wish were in the intro, but i agree with you that the ideal intro would reflect the entire history of the show and include callers that were regulars once upon a time (purple shirt, officer tom) who maybe don't call anymore.

Right. I guess "Gingivitis" and "This is Petey from the future" were non-regulars. You need a cool sounding quote to get on the intro. Just any old "Hello Tom" wont cut it.

I'm pretty sure "Gingivitis" is Petey.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

"This is Petey from the future" was a regular, too, once upon a time.

I think that the Wurster calls have been getting more frequent.  His MySpace shows him as touring with various bands all this year, including Rob Mold from Husker Dude, so I imagine it must be kind of tough.

Really? I haven't heard everything in the archives, but the only one I've come across was the one from Petey's 2004 birthday show. I just assumed it was a one-off.

I really like Petey 4.0, but I'm pretty sure that wasn't JW.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

i think it's pretty obvious who that was....

Well excuuuuuuuse me.

but maybe it was only obvious to me since i actually noticed when Petey's name on myspace was Frederick Douglass....

That's awesome. I've always thought that was a great concept. I've never heard the archive of gingivitis either. I've gotta step it up.

Petey 4.0 was classic: "Tommy, this guy's not bwingin' it..."

Yeah, because talking about new ideas for themes is the same as insulting the two main forces behind the show.

Don't let the New Regime's culture of fear silence you!

Remember that Frederick Douglas guy from last summer?
I want his call to just be the intro.
"Biggie cucumbers...biggie tomatoes...biggie peppers..."

And lets not forget Mr. Douglass' stirring rendition of "I'm In Love With a Girl."

I think if "Judge Spike" happened, I could die a happy man. Unless it blew. It could go either way.
It ain't ego, it's my love for you.

No, no, I wasn't saying that Petey from the future was a regular caller.  It's the person behind the character who was.  So, by the same reasoning that Gingivitis can be justified as a regular because Petey made the call, so can Petey from the future.

Clarification:

- Petey from the Future was a one-off JW call
- Petey 4.0 was NOT JW and I believe he called a few times.  I have no idea whether he was a regular caller in other guises.

In a quick spin through the Newbridgctionary, it looks like JW calls are up over the last three years or so, and holding steady during that period.
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

I think it would be great if there was an alternate theme with nothing but villains.

"James James James James."

"It's the God of Thunder."

"Hi Tom. It's Julie from Cincinnati."

"...and Richard Kind said 'don't do it'."

"I pity the fool."

"Hellllooooo Tooom."

etc.

I think any inclusion of James in the intro should be limited to the clip from the April Fools show of Tom bellowing "I JAMESED JAMES!!!!" at mic-damaging volume.
I'm warning you with peace and love.

it NEEDS the "sittin' in my bedroom, drinking a cold beer" guy

Good one, Turf. I have no idea how I overlooked that guy.

I hope there are no major changes to the intro. I hope it stays sort of a mini-collage of the show's entire history - there may be no more supercallers, but there's no more Purple Shirt either, and it would be a shame to loose his bit in the intro.

..yeah sure...it'd be really sad if that guy from crust wasn't in the intro anymore....
