"This is Petey from the future" was a regular, too, once upon a time.

I think that the Wurster calls have been getting more frequent.  His MySpace shows him as touring with various bands all this year, including Rob Mold from Husker Dude, so I imagine it must be kind of tough.

Bob MOULD from Husker DU. Also, couldn't Wurster's calls just be pretaped?
He was natural police. And I don't say that about many people, even when they're here on the felt. I don't say that often unless it happens to be true. Nat'ral po-lice. But Christ, what an asshole.

The show's opening is very perfect. What is the bed music though? It haunts me now.

Is this some kind of reverse irony? Or sub-ironic sarcasm? In any case, way over my head.

it NEEDS the "sittin' in my bedroom, drinking a cold beer" guy

Good one, Turf. I have no idea how I overlooked that guy.

More importantly, it needs Tom doing his Ted-Levine-as-Buffalo-Bob-esque imitation of that guy.

ETA: oops I meant "Buffalo Bill." I conflated the creepy guys in Silence of the Lambs and Twin Peaks.

Paul F Tompkins uttered those words at one point, I believe during the movie quote show. My all-time favorite movie quote ever. Perfect opening fodder!

Buffalo Bill ruined the word "Tuck" for me forever.

Now he's on Monk.  Ted Levine: good actor... voice presents a... um... challenge.
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

one of my favorite moments in best show history!

was it during the movie quote show or was it a week or two later? for some reason, i think it was an afterthought because it didn't make the official list, and i think that tom would have added it. maybe i'm remembering wrong.

It made the official list during the movie quotes show:

"PFT's contribution is one of his all-time favorite movie quotes from the thriller/chiller (it lacks any legit spills) The Silence of the Lambs (1991). Tom asks him if it's the oft-cited Chianti and fava beans line. PFT is disappointed in Tom at how disappointed in him Tom must be to even think that he would suggest that quote. He offers an overlooked quote that he feels is the perfect marriage of writing (Teddy Tally), direction (Johnathan Demme), and performance (Ted Levine). Clarice Starling (Jodie Foster) is questioning Jame Gumb (Levine) about a missing girl who turned up dead. Gumb is stonewalling her, so she gives up and starts to leave. As Gumb is about to close his door, he politely says, "Oh, wait. Was she a great, big, fat girl?" PFT thinks the eccentric adjective trio yields one of the most amazing quotes in film history. Mike denies it, but Tom overrides him. ACCEPTED. PFT doesn't understand why Mike has to be such a TSotL sourpuss. Tom admits that Mike has not denied any quotes tonight. He left the studio 20 minutes ago."

Not to nitpick, but the quote is:  "great big fat person", isnt it?

It's the "person" that makes the quote. And then Jodie Foster nods and says very businesslike: "She was a big girl, sir." So good:

Ok, I'm going to stop obsessing about this on this thread now.
