I'm listening to the 12/6/05 archive ("Plenty Of Talk About The Ugliest Band In Rock History") and had I been a listener at the time, I would have nominated The Only Ones:

I can't remember if they were mentioned on that show (I kinda doubt it), but I nominate Rose Tattoo:



Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the singer (the bald guy who's about 2'8") is named Angry Anderson.

The Stranglers also have to be high in the running.

I missed that show, hopefully it wasn't all about the Gert Jonnys.

I cannot find any photos online of my three nominees, but:

God Bullies/Mike Hard
Zoogz Rift
Early Butthole Surfers, before they stopped taking drugs and went to a barber shop.  Around the time of PCPPEP, they looked like they fell out of an ugly tree and hit every branch on the way down.

I nominate Dead Moon.

They are one of my favorite bands, but yikes, it was hard to tell who was who through all that ugly.

I'd agree with you about the two men in the band, but I don't think Toody is ugly at all.
