I used Tom's until I had to face the fact that it doesn't actually work.  Stinking vs. Alzheimer's is a terrible choice, but as usual I decided to fuck my future self over.

Same. It was a hard choice.

same here. now i use No Offense by Origins, which seems to work better - not as effective as regular deodorants, but i like it enough.

Beware of Lush deodorants. I used Fuwari, and it gave me major firepits within two weeks. :(

Too bad. I love everything else they make.

Yeah, I'm pretty much in love with their almond kisses moisturizer. And I like playing with the bath bombs. SPLODEY.

What are 'firepits'?  Any relevance to The Fire Swamp from Princess Bride

I started using this after I realized Tom's Of Maine doesn't really work:
Flameworks Vegan Deodorant

I like it, but I really want to try that J/Ȃ/S/Ö/N stuff.

Anything that's deodorant and not an anti-perspirant for me. When I use anti-perspirant my body just amps up the sweat to compensate.

And also: that aluminum/alzheimer's link has been thoroughly debunked, I believe.

Probably.  But it still makes me uncomfortable to put aluminum on my skin every day.  Also, aluminum zirconium tetrachlorohydrex gly is responsible for "pit stains," which have ruined a few of my favortie shirts.  Since I've stopped using deodorant with aluminum, I haven't gotten any stains.

Got any linkses?

Also, I think Laurie's talking about this:

Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

I am nearly positive that my information on this is courtesy of a neurotic, ocd-suffering former co-worker who's a biomedical engineer Ph.D. He had always already done all the legwork on "things to worry about" research. He assured me that it was all fine, and I decided that if he wasn't going to worry about it, it was OK by me, too.

But my googling turned up this more reputable source, which backs me up:

Thanks.  I'll not-stink a little easier.

Thanks for the tip NU, I've lost a bunch of shirts to pit stains over the years.
I'm going to try some aluminum-free deodorant next and see if that helps.
