I don't think the point of this new trend of comic remixes is to point out that comics aren't funny.  It's to take this pedestrian source material and with a few tweaks turn it into something really weird and good. 

My only problem with it is that these internet trends get run into the ground.

I also find the Comics Curmudgeon's commentary on Curtis-- pardon the alliteration-- to be very funny.    When he points out how Curtis and his little brother talk more like elderly jewish men than young black kids.

I love the Comics Curmudgeon, since I'm one of those people who sometimes just can't help getting angry at examples of particular stupidity in things like comics (well, mostly Mallard Fillmore).
