The book "The Tipping Point" has a fun section on how the suits that took over Airwalk wrecked its image and killed its sales through overexposure.  I never wore Converse because they were cool, but I may stop wearing them if they continue to become so hideously, gut-wrenchingly UNcool.  Plaid.  Signed editions.
