 Hey Slob! Maybe consider moving that bong to the right of the television somewhere out of the shot.

Is there a way I can follow this discussion without having to watch all the videos?
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

That's how I feel about most of the internet sometimes.

I think it was a shame this thread didn't take off.

I'd like to offer Donal Logue, especially in this movie:

I don't much care for the Hairdresser song, but I covet the couch cover she's wearing.

The "Crackheads" performers give off a sort of a Jonestown vibe, no?  The rapping is really stiff and aggressively on-message, and the slang is something out of an after school special.  And the girl in the band serves no function at all. Couldn't they at least have given her a tambo to groove on?

And when did LSD become a gateway drug to crack? That seems like quite a jump to me.

Stairway to Stardom?  Count me in!

<Comin' to America>
<Poem about bashing some kid's head against the radiator>
<Hairdresser>

O.k.  Where to begin?
First of all, All the King's Men do a pretty decent job of vibing-up Neil Diamond, but I can't shake the feeling that if someone had given them a Contortions or a Gang of Four record back then, they could've been AWESOME...  Just a feeling I have...
Second, is it, "That's beautiful, Precious," or "That's beautiful, precious."  It's a big diff in that context.  And speaking of context, where is it?  Surely that can't be the whole poem, right?  I'm more curious about this than most things I could potentially be curious about this morning.
And last, the "Hairdresser" has opened up a couple of new songwriting doors for me - the way she sifts to the "Teaser Louise" thing in the middle is a revelation - she drops a whole Dion and the Belmonts update type of song (in which she says, "How can a model drink beer from a bottle" - better than anything the Strokes ever wrote) - right smack in the middle of a Shirelles update type of song - genius!
Now write me a receipt so I can tip on outta here...

This movie was waste of time for Taoists and Steve's alike.  But I do love Donal Logue ... Mostly because of his old Jimmy The Cabdriver spots on MTV, remember ...?
