Mental Images of Callers
« on: July 02, 2008, 10:13:36 AM »
I was just talking with one-time-caller Rick from Philadelphia about the mental images of callers that you get when you listen to the show.

Here is my mental image of Spike:
-Balding, grey hair
-Earring
-Skinny dude, wears a lot of sleeveless shirts
-Chain smoking
-Tinted glasses
-Possibly broken teeth

Rick from Philadelphia offered this (minus suit and cigarrette):

Not me. Anthony Bourdain is sexy, which isn't the first word that comes to mind when I think of Spike.

I'm never going to be able to think of Don Rickles again without thinking of a terrible news columnist who made some crappy joke about Fibro.

Spike has described himself as looking something like Malcolm-Jamal Warner, plus a few pounds.  So I picture that.  I'm not sure how anyone can picture Spike as a slender man.

For some reason I've always pictured him as slender ... maybe even a little too thin for his own good. Reading glasses. Cosby-esque sweater. Maybe he wears a straw sun-hat when he has to go outside in the day time.

I have no idea why I assume all of that. ???
