Best to Worst list making my day better
« on: July 03, 2008, 03:02:39 PM »
Ever since your best to worst show my walks to work have become much more enjoyable.  Now when I get stuck behind a "What is this Reservoir Dogs" group I chuckle to myself rather than stew in a silent rage.  I think they need to be moved up a bit now.

Thanks Tom!!!

This has been happening to me as well. I used to get soooo angry walking around in Manhattan, trying to get the @%&$#! past people on the narrow sidewalks. Now that simple phrase cools my jets.

I was walking with 3 friends yesterday and the 4 of us created a formation of "What is this Resevoir Dogs"! I quickly realized and was so ashamed I dropped back to walk behind them.  Then it was just me trailing them and one friend asked why I was lagging.  I should have responded with the correct phrase.

There's really nothing wrong with walking like that, as long as you're not on a busy street. If you're walking like that and there are people behind you or coming at you, that's when it's terrible.

It's even worse in a narrow, crowded school hallway- at least as frustrating and much more claustrophobic.

at least when they're walking, they're still moving. can we all agree that a far more egregious error is when you're in a hallway and there is foot traffic going in both directions, and someone just STOPS? what the hell is that about? pull over to the side, people!

i hate this at airports and the farmers market, especially. i'm trying to do my thing, here. keep it moving.

Around here, people driving in opposite directions will often stop their vehicles in the middle of the road in order to have a chat.  I sort of love it.

I witnessed baby geese slowly waddling their way across a busy street firsthand yesterday, and Tom did not overstate the greatness of that moment.

I say we coin a phrase for this slow walking phenomenon.  R-Dogging.  As in "Sorry I was late, I was R-dogged by three old ladies on the way in".

On second thoughts that might create confusion.

I saw 8 baby ducks following their mother close up, about an hour ago.  Totally awesome.  I almost want to go check out Brooklyn Vegan just to make sure those commenters really suck.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

I'm re-visiting old Flin Flion and Unrest albums, and am more of a self-loathing smoker than ever! (in a good want-to-quit way)
