Oh my god, I love my present! When my brother asked my mother for Christmas gift ideas for his dear sister, I told her to tell him to check out The Bone Room for stocking stuffers, like rat skeletons and miscellaneous bones and teeth!

My Secret Santa got me a taxidermied mouse with little wings sewn onto it. Awwww. Bless. Reminds me of that interesting article Michelle Tea wrote about alternative taxidermy for Believer Magazine. I put the little guy on one of my bookcases. He's sitting on the new Thomas Pynchon book.

This is seriously the perfect gift for me. Last year, my now ex-boyfriend got me a dessicated octopus for Christmas. I still love it, even though I want my ex to choke on his own vomit. I love this stuff.

I covet your mouse, Laurie.  Still, it's probably better off with you:  I would've just admired it for a while and then shoved it in a box somewhere.

So, I've opened my SS prezzy!  I got a catalog that sort of gave away my Santa's identity, some notepaper with accompanying envelopes and stickers (attached to the wrapping of which was a business card that also tossed anonymity to the winds), a copy of Shunryu Suzuki's Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind, from which I hope eventually to gain true enlightenment, and--my favorite--a 1955 paperback entitled The Girls from Planet 5.

Thanks, Santa whom I will not name!

Thanks for the fantastic BICYCLE BOOKS Laurie! I'm touched! I especially enjoy the comprehensive history, which goes into great detail. I recently petitioned the US Postal Service to issue a Pierre Lallement stamp. I plan to call in tomorrow night with a full report.

SS gifts?

Was Timmy von Trimble behind all of this?

If he was, I wanna know who got the 10-disc Panzerfaust box set.

I got a funny little book by a guy named Jim Cramer. It's called "Mad Money," and features his delightful mug on the cover. Oh, I also got a fake mustache.

1) My secret santa gift was personally delivered, which is either super cool or slightly creepy. Two hot rockin' rock magazines and a large welded fish. I find fish hilarious so it is a great gift.

You aren't the only FOT that enjoys aquatic life, or the only one in ChicagoLand.

I haven't gotten mine yet.
