As a lifelong (now part-time) North Carolinian, I can agree with new-to-the-Triangle caller Kat on several things:

1) The state's current government is awful, I mean worse than you think. I went to college with some of these yutz-knuckles and they were bad back then.
2) The area is underrated, particularly for its friendly people and excellent and affordable restaurants. I've never been to the arepas place she mentioned, but the News & Observer had a fantastic review. Also she should try Alpaca Chicken in Durham (and now Morrisville) which has great Peruvian food.
3) This nation really does need a better high-speed rail service, at least in the parts where there are enough people to justify it.

Things I can't agree with her on:
1) The need for "the fall of global capitalism."

I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

Fred from Honolulu MUST call in EVERY week. His laughter during Tom's roasting is beyond hilarious.

Was bummed that so many of the calls were taken up by complaints about an echo. Hopefully the tech stuff is back to normal next week!

Best Avalanche Bob call in awhile, but only because of the Crash Test Dummies.

And the laughter in the background.

Tom & Julie episodes are always the best, but this one was especially great. I hadn't heard an episode that was JUST Tom & Julie (if talking comedic artists only) in a long time. I lost it with the Bernie Madoff T-shirts and the Woody Allen Pokemon Go riffing.

Very happy/emotional to hear Yetta be honored.

That first song A Giant Dog played was totally inappropriate.

Yeah, that first track was a little too Mike Show for my tastes.

So it goes.

On all of the LA talk with Gabe, people should know that the Buggy Whip closed a few years back.

Oof, the NJ guy/Philly girl callers were rough. "It's a Philadelphia beach. It's like our beach!" I have no dog in defending New Jersey, but that was getting me steamed.

I love, how, recently, callers have been convincing Tom to do impressions. I've always thought Tom's impressions were awesome and I'm glad that callers do too.

There really needs to be a giggle-off between Fred From Honolulu and Andy Kindler. Who has the best giggle in the world, Fred or Andy?
