Natural Language Processing?  That is the field in which I work. What would you like to know, Trembling Eagle?

in what world is this woman good looking?

in the world of politics - where most people look like this:

You're right. That's the ugliest woman I have ever seen.

Coincidentally, two of Fred Thompson's earliest clients were my parents. He had passed the bar less than 3 months previously when he did the paperwork and made some phone calls on their behalf in their bankruptcy declaration (I was afflicted with childhood neuphrosis (sp?), and drove them right over Mt Ruin.)

You know what would be great? If H.L. Mencken were still alive, I bet he'd be writing columns and articles about Sarah Palin that would give her a verbal flaying like we can't even imagine. I have to go track down some of his essays -- he was ruthless in his treatment of some of the crackpot politicians of his day, such as Warren Harding and William Jennings Bryan. (He also heaped praise on Grover Cleveland, of all people, who he seemed to think was horribly underrated.) But he reserved some of his most brutal vituperation for the anti-intellectual and Calvinist tendencies of the Scots-Irish folk of the midsection of the country. The leaders he singled out for his most stinging attacks lead me to believe he'd have it in for Sarah Palin, with her creationist-populism buffoonery. I'm not saying Mencken was right about everything he wrote, far from it -- just that I'd love to see what he'd have to say today in print.

Well, personally, I'd love to know more about Natural Language Processing. Because I don't know what it is. Enlighten me, JFM.

oh, those Scots-Irish hill folk
They've added SO much to our American culture: music, religion, literature...but they've also brought some toxic elements to this melting pot.
That old country clannishness has morphed into a particularly nasty brand of xenophobic nationalism in the undercurrents of republican politics.

Just my opinion but the real reason the South and rural areas of the Midwest and elsewhere vote so staunchly republican of course has nothing to do with economics or foreign policy, it's all in reaction to the social upheaval of the 1960's.

I think it's that as well as FEAR. Just my pop-psych take on the issue.

These were all posted on the Bitch Magazine site, and are all pro-McCain/Palin.  Classy, especially the "McMilf" onesie!  I think some of them might make some good Best Show shirts with a little alteration.

Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

OK, is it just me, or does that look like it's not his hand? That is really freaking me out to look at.

I'm warning you with peace and love.

If anybody has their kid wearing that in public, they should immediately be turned over to Social Services.

I'm pretty sure that's Palin's hand.

I thought you meant "Nemerson Lake & Palmer."
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!
