I vouted* absentee, and always do, to my most recent residence in the US, midcoast Maine.
I voted for Obama but against a couple of bizarre statewide referendums such as whether a Nevada-based casino developer should be granted permission to not just operate the $100 million facility, but be granted a statewide monopoly of casino gambling on a vast plot of farmland in Oxford, Maine.
Even if people had extra cash to gamble, it's still dirty money.
I think not.
*Boing* NO on Question 2!
Also, a referendum about whether to attach a "luxury tax" on beer, wine, soda and other beverages, to the tune of a dime a gallon, to finance a unique (and much maligned) state-run health care plan called Dirigo. Many Mainers are furious that the state wants to tax their bubblies in order to "redistribute wealth" (they say indignantly).
I say cool, let 'em tax Diet Dr. Pepper's for health care for kids, at least it might spark a statewide dialogue about how to pay for health care.

I am so nervous about the outcome of the election. It sucks nuggets being the whipping boy of Dubya out here in Helstinki all the time.

That's how they pronounce "voted" in Finland........... Why?
