State Pride
« on: November 05, 2008, 01:19:36 AM »
It's times like this that I'm proud to be from Massachusetts.  My dude won! Go John Tierney!  (John Kerry is dead to me but I guess I'm glad the other guy didn't win)  All the questions went my way! 1. Taxes are necessary!  We're not called Taxxachusetts for nothing!  We can take an income tax, we're grownups!  Share the wealth!  2. So long, doing time for a joint!  3.  So long, dog racing!

How'd your state do by you?
 :D ;) :)

Not only did Colorado go thoroughly blue and elect a Democratic senator, we kicked the awful Marilyn Musgrave out of the House.

My own district just elected the first openly gay House member.

MD never lets me down. And Baltimore City went 88% for Obama.

They did vote yes on slots, which I'm not a fan of, but I couldn't be happier.

Hey you know - even though I still live in a RED state ...

The popular vote in this wasteland (Nebraska) was about 50/50 so ... just WOW ...

Nebraska, I had no idea, no faith, nothing.

Good on ye, Bugeaters!

Downtown tonight was like football Saturday here. Crazy pro-Obama. I was shocked!

Washington will become the second state to allow doctors to prescribe lethal doses of medication for terminally ill patients seeking to hasten their deaths.

Initiative 1000 — referred to by supporters as a "death-with-dignity" act and by opponents as an "assisted-suicide" measure — was leading across the state Tuesday.

Also, we re-elected our Democrat governor in what was considered the closest gubenatorial election in this cycle.

Sent 7 Democrats and 2 Republicans to the House.

And of course, selected Obama/Biden.

Also, no toll booths! Now I can take my suicide pills while driving and not have to sew change pockets into my death shroud.

Judging from the people celebrating, I don't think anyone wants the suicide pills anymore.   :D

While I'm glad that CA supported Obama instead of McCain, considering how voters here are voting on the Propositions so far, California can fall into a sinkhole for all I care. Just frickin' sink.

I'm proud that Maine favored Obama 58.24% to 39.93%, saddened that my county gave him only 50% to 48%, but jubilant that my town went for him 60% to 39%.  And I'm glad the casino was voted down.  But I'm depressed that the repeal of the modest beverage tax that funded a health care program for low-income Mainers, especially children, passed.

Oh, and the Republican senator was voted back in, but that was bound to happen.

Florida didn't mess it up!

Sarasota and Alachua counties went blue!

You passed Prop. 2 (the one that outlaws veal pens and stuff), at least. That's great news!

I'm glad we did Ontario proud finally. Somehow, America feels a little more Canadian today.
