He's a comedy writer and performer, most visible in the HBO sketch comedy show Mr. Show (1995-98) and currently in Comedy Central's The Sarah Silverman Program.

Jay Johnstone was a baseball player.

Jay Johnston made me cry laughing multiple times on the Mr. Show commentaries. I had to pause it to regain myself when him and PFT redubbed certain sketches. They should seriously do that on some professional level, using a rifftrax type set-up.
