dB's Peter Holsapple discusses "The Anatomy of a Flop"

About "Love is for Lovers" from Like This.

He might be right that his voice wasn't made for a #1 hit, but I think it fits the dB's sound just right.

Hey, the article contains handy embedded audio!  Kudos!  Relistening just now, I think in this song maybe he does try to do things his voice isn't built for.

And kudos to you for posting this link.

I love the dBs. Knowing this tiny piece of their history made me very happy.
The only Wire I care about is the one that recorded Pink Flag.

Am I wrong to think it's really 'Neverland' that should've been their hit?

Well, "Neverland" might be their best song but I think "Love is for Lovers" was designed to be a hit, hence the article.

I don't own the album 'Love is For Lovers' comes from, and on first listen it really doesn't sound better than an average dB's song (still pretty darn good). Then again, many of their songs are classic growers, so maybe I need to spend more time with it. If I can ever track down a copy of the record, of course.
