Danke. This next year should be a lot of fun! Busy, but good times.

I like that wedding porn site it's pretty creative but we're gonna keep things fairly simple.

Good luck in your endeavor, erika.

 I'll second that.

What about dowries? Do you believe in them?

I told him my dowry was a Hyundai Accent, a dell laptop, two cats and a nice collection of Edward Hopper post cards. Beat THAT.

I'm teasing you 'cause I'm imagining the delivery of that "Good luck with your endeavor" delivered in the most clipped and distant way possible, like when you tell your dad you're moving in with your girlfriend and he wants to be supportive but he thinks you're going to hell now, and he's just like "Well, you're two good people.  I wish you luck."  Not that that's how you're saying it, but that was my mental image.

My girlfriend currently doesn't believe in marriage.  Unless she just doesn't believe in marriage to me.  Haven't really quizzed her on that specifically.

Erika, that's a pretty good dowry.

Marriage seems quaint

in 1000 yrs I doubt humans will be doing pair bonding in the same ways.

Even in a couple hundred years once the technology for pleasure bots gets off the ground, or perhaps elective genetic manipulation.

what about land...do you own any land?

according to an old relative of mine, you'll never be poor or hungry as long as you own land.

Does a bag of rock salt count as land? I have one in the back of my car right now. (80 lbs!)

Damn, you need that much salt in Baltimore?  I had no idea.
