Best show of all time.  I finally obtained my own copy of the DVDs for the series and have been watching them recently.

Also, I'm all for people discovering things when there is virtually no buzz around it because I'm always way behind the curve on stuff.

Can't we give it a rest with the loving arrested development stuff?  Sheesh.  I still don't get why it's "funny".

That's because it isn't "funny"; it's funny.

If I had said "I still don't get why it's funny" I would be tacitly agreeing that it's funny, but that I just don't understand why I think it's funny.  That would be inaccurate.  I don't think it's funny.  By saying "I still don't get why it's 'funny'", in essence I am saying "I still don't get why it's supposed to be funny to me and why it is funny to all these other people.  At least that was my intention.

I don't really get what all the hub-bubs is all about.  The few episodes I have seen are kindasorta funny.  Like there will be a couple jokes that I would consider funny but they are delivered or editted in such a way that the timing is off or something and it just doesn't work.  It's no great shakes.  There's dozens of shows that are better.  Maybe hundreds.  It's just ok.

Well, at least you gave it a try.  I mean, 3/53 episodes is a pretty good sampling.  Toss it on the television ash heap!

Also: According To Jim starts back up tonight.  I don't really like it, but my Courtney Thorne-Smith* completism has kept me a loyal viewer from the beginning.

*Her finest work was done on the short-lived and underrated Day By Day, a show that also featured Julia Louis-Dreyfuss and a very young Enid Coleslaw.

I'll have you know I watched something like 5 and a half episodes and thats more than a tenth of them all.  So I think I'm qualified enough to say it pretty much blows chipmunks behind the toolshed.
