not to disparage any of the fine folks within this apparently useful thread, but I refuse to cheapen an already trivial experience, in an attempt to raise my postcount to a level which unlocks, what I can only assume to be golden riches.  I won't pretend to be The Best Poster, nor the most prolific (look at that buffguy over there), but I can at least try to contribute, albeit with a half-hearted effort at spell-checking, and often with long blocks of words, that very rarely make cohesive sense.

as far as I can tell, this is a board dedicated to THE BEST Show, and as a Fan of The Best Show, or Friend of Tom (if only in the virtual sense), I feel it my allegiant duty to put forth such an effort in homage to all the hard work that's been practically GIVEN to me.   we're talking about people who are the FP of FP's, and yet, slobs that we are,  a two-syllable sentence, or one-word phrase is all we try to put on the plate.

I may not own a Gorch t-shirt, nor even the one that says "NEWBRIDGE IS FOR LOVERS" (although a guy here at work wears both), but I will not debase myself even further by muttered snippets.

I will blather until the forum's wonky formatting prevents me from seeing my words, which is right about now....

EDIT: MORE WORDS

I thought this was a board dedicated to people who are overly aware of, if not exactly fans of, the rock group KISS. Imagine my embarrassment!

And to think I posted 5,706 times in the past three months without knowing. What a maroon!
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

your loquacious adoration of the rock group KISS is nothing to be ashamed of.  they helped a lot of slobs get through their miserable, workaday lives.

me?  I have over 20,000 posts on a message board devoted to a now-defunct art-noise band on the Matador Records label.  then again, they had a much sexier bass player than Gene Simmons, if you can believe that.

I feel that it's worth mentioning that, of those 20,000+ posts, maybe 3, or 4, were actually about the band; the rest, calculatingly devised to stir the hive.

are we there yet? have I reached that fabled leprechaun's treasure that awaits me at 50 posts?  what is the percentage of posters that stop once they reach that point?

that won't be me. I'm in this for the long run.  I know how to post. [alt+s]

Keep going!  What's your ultimate goal? I ask to give you another good reason to post.

unless I get banned for posting videos of a diminutive Paul McCartney crooning out his latest hit to video game characters, I'd say.....TOTAL DOMINATION.

that's the right answer, isn't it?

as a FAN FOR LIFE, I'd say the next best answer would be "as long as the internet holds out".  I give it another 3-4 years.  after that, you'll be beaming my posts straight into your hot and waiting amygdalas via Googlegoggles3.0.

Never really dug KISS. Not my thing. Just always seemed like style over substance.

I'm willing to live and let live, though. I can coexist with Paul Stanley, provided he brings the Folgers.

Which makes me wonder which rock star would make the best coffee. Any number of them would have considerable expertise when it comes to stimulants from Colombia.
