Mr. Brooks night?
« on: February 03, 2009, 08:37:47 AM »
Dear Tom,

I know it has been asked before, but any idea on when the Mr. Brooks Night will be? I'm thinking we need to throw a sizable New York watching party and need to start hustling up to locations. I'm sure you'll give us all fair warning.

Regards,

David

Finally saw Mr. Brooks for the first time. I must say, a worthy successor to Roadhouse.

YES. It is cinematic genius in the ability to fail in every aspect so flawlessly.

No other movie has ever made me laugh from the opening text alone.

The hunger has returned to Mr. Brooks brain...

Behind the scenes of Mr. Brooks:

Demi Moore: "This could be a movie that people would really like to see." "It's heavy in certain areas, but it's also wickedly twisted in a humorous way."

Kevin Costner: "Inside all the scariness you laugh out loud ten times."

Kevin Costner: "It makes you laugh."

Dane Cook: "People primarily know me as being a funny guy."

(about Kevin Costner): "He talked about the scene the way I talked for many years about comedy...what's underneath. That's very important, you talk to another artist and they start telling you what's underneath. That got my blood flowin'."

I just saw this, and man it was so bad in a good way

If this ever happens, I think Mr. W of the best show would be a perfect pick to play Dane Cook's character.

also, the main song of the soundtrack sounded like one of the main songs in Pi

ps. Mr. Brooks is lucky that everyone in the movie has that same slide lock.

pps. I doubt it will happen, but can you imagine Spike as Mr. Brooks?

I know the date for Mr. Brooks is still TBA, but I was thinking how great it'd be to hear a Scharpling and Wurster version of Clifford. I suppose Jon would play Martin Short and Tom would be Charles Grodin.

This has been on my PVR, un-watched, since just after it was announced. Guess I should relent and watch it first.

It's really quite brilliant in its awfulness. I haven't seen a movie of this supposed caliber that bad in awhile.
