Ahh no, I didn't think you were attacking anyone. I just wanted to clarify that I'd been familiar with those bands/that scene/those ideas for a long time (it was inescapable if you were around DC), but by the time I owned my own VCR or DVD player, I'd long since stopped caring about that stuff and never bothered to rent it. I never ran around with a mohawk, but plenty of my friends did and I always struggled to keep a straight face when one of them was going on about politics or DIY or whatever was on the script they always seemed to be reading off of. I'm glad young people carve out their own lifestyles and don't always listen to authority figures, but damned if almost everything doesn't seem corny after about 20 years, no matter how rebellious it seemed. Sometimes it even seems corny right then, in the moment.
