the only fear i have when my favorite comedians sell out actually has nothing do with them.  it comes to knowing that some real cretons are going to come out to the shows.  my number one pet peeve at comedy shows is when someone (or everyone) thinks their a comedian. 

luckily, a Patton (and others) are pros...as shown on werewolves and lollipops.

I liked this movie and you probably will as well. However, after reading this thread and seeing the movie, most of you should lower your expectations considerably. It's a very low-key movie.

I listened to the Fresh Air interview with Patton and the writer/director and they played a few clips from the movie. I had a really hard time taking Patton seriously in the clip where he calls into the radio station. Maybe I've listened to too much of his stand-up or something.



Also, he references The Best Show in the interview.

I'm not sure I get your meaning. Lower our expectations for what? Action, earth-shattering revelations about the human condition, or quality? I'm not expecting a very action-packed movie, but a very good one with sincerity and heart. Like THE WRESTLER.

Obviously I wasn't saying don't go expecting an action movie, you'll be disappointed. I guess what I was trying to say is that because of The Wrestler (and Patton), I shared in the excitement that I read on this thread. Again, I liked this movie and I think it was very successful on the terms it set itself, but I don't think its a movie that benefits from a high level of excitement or expectations. Its a much smaller film than The Wrestler and it doesn't have the things that made The Wrestler get a lot of awards and nominations. I'd hardly call it a movie with sincerity and heart.
